Happy to report that Melody is doing much better
today - definitely something to be thankful for! She actually smiled!
She's been able to eat a bit of food and drink bone broth, apple juice and
chamomile tea, and has so far kept them all down. She was able to sit
herself up (with a little help) on the edge of her bed for a while, but
she's still very weak and tired. She's going to try to walk later today.
I got to see the charge doctor this morning, and was able to get
updates from her first hand, which are all
positive. Blood work shows her stabilizing, her wound is healing nicely and
there are sounds of action happening in the digestive system. Catheter comes
out tomorrow, and once she can pee, they can release her, but she's not
anxious to leave (she's a bit scared).
Right now, she's sleeping peacefully.
After yesterday's update, I particularly wanted to
share this, in the hope that this good news helps you celebrate today. Mel
and I have each other, and we have you, this lovely community of family and
friends, and all of that is worth quite a lot of gratitude. We have
gratitude in abundance, today and every day.
We hope you and your families have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
